BMW SA required a test station whereby they could verify the functionality of all the spot welding guns leaving their Maintenance Work Shop. SAR South Africa was approached to offer a cost effective solution to replace their legacy system.
 
SAR developed, together with BMW SA, an innovative concept using key components from the old legacy system and combining it with equipment that matched their standard production control systems. This proposal greatly reduced costs and the need for additional spare parts.
 
The final test bench consisted of a BMW Standard OVC cabinet with additional High Speed Analogue Cards for data acquisition. Master as well as recoded data is stored in a SQL database for a full overview of the gun's performance.
