SAR UK completes first project |
From September 2007 to the beginning of January 2008, the new branch SAR UK Ltd. as general contractor to MINI in Oxford,
supplied and commissioned a complete new second seam seal line worth 7 Mill. Euro.
Particularly aggravating was the fact that the job needed to be completed parallel to production. Cleanliness and safety at work was a major challenge to all.
Mechanical subcontractor Dürr UK was responsible for the hand stations, spray booths, air ventilation systems etc.
Jervis Webb, also a subcontractor, supplied the mechanical part of the conveyor system.
The electrical control units such as 6 ABB IRB1600 under body robots mounted on a 7th axes, material supply with 1000l dual barrel presses, booster stations,
PVC-temperature regulators, 30 manual application stations etc. were supply scope of SAR.
As supplied for the existing Line 1, MINI chose the SAR flatstream guns with continuous dosing control system for line 2.
The same SAR dosing control systems have been installed for the UBS airless application for the first time.
Currently 12 flatstream systems and 6 UBS systems are operational on both lines. Also 12 manual piston dosing systems for the newly introduced manual
hem flange application (doors, bonnet and boot lid are sealed in paint shop again) have been supplied by SAR.
The successful commissioning was praised in the MINI@Oxford news letter. We congratulate our team in England.
