SAR is a project partner in a European research project with the goal of reducing CO2 emissions of thermal waste utilization.
Further project partners are the comunal power station Schweinfurt and the company Weghaus.
The research enterprise carries the title:
Deployment of a firing model for climate protection by increasing efficiency and emission reduction in grate systems with heterogeneous fuels.
Heterogeneous fuels lead to extremely irregular combustion conditions
Contrary to fossil fuels, heterogeneous fuels like garbage, biomass and replacement fuels lead to extremely irregular combustion conditions.
The resulting system operating conditions can on the one side result in an increased release of harmful substances and on the other side make the operation more difficult and limit the efficiency thereof.
Especially the reduced efficiency causes increased CO2 emissions and therefore relates to the climate.
Further development of the SAR combustion control system for betterclimate protection
The goal of this research enterprise is to improve combustion control by means of a physico-chemical process model.
This will be achieved with an improved SAR combustion control system and thereby contribute to climate protection by reducing emissions and improving efficiency.
The duration of the project is projected to be 2.5 years. We will report on achieved results.
